EWD has established regional Centers specializing in providing training and consulting services for specific industries whose labor force is growing, delivered through the community college nearest to you.
Advanced Transportation and Renewable Energy Centers: Training is available for new and incumbent workers in energy and alternative fuel technologies, alternative-powered vehicles, and intelligent transportation systems, equipping the workforce with skills to adapt to rapidly developing technology-driven changes and the transportation and energy industries.
Customized workplace training through the Workplace Learning Resource Centers is designed to improve the on-the-job performance of workers within demand occupations and high-growth industries through the delivery of occupation specific skills assessments and customized training in areas such as ESL, customer service, computer literacy, communication, and other soft skills.

With locations throughout California and services available in English, Spanish, Korean and Vietnamese, the Small Business Development Centers benefit hundreds of business owners every year.
The Centers for international Trade Development advance the competitive strength of California businesses in the global marketplace through extensive training and international trade technical assistance.
Centers for Applied Competitive Technologies assist small to medium-sized manufacturing companies in California through manufacturing training, access to new manufacturing technologies, and resolution of specific process and manufacturing problems. Areas of expertise include quality assurance, Computer Aided Design (CAD), production automation, rapid prototyping, and lean manufacturing practices.
Media and Entertainment Centers Provide training to develop the technical expertise of working professionals and individuals preparing to enter the communications, entertainment, and interactive learning industries. Training has been developed in animation, special effects, video and film production, and video and computer gaming. Coming soon to Santa Ana, California, is a federally-funded Digital Media Center for businesses needing post-production and other media-related facilities and technical assistance.
Centers for Applied Biological Technologies develop and delivers industry-driven training to address the workforce needs of biotechnology and bioscience companies in California while building the skills of existing employees or those that plan to enter the biosciences workforce. |
